Criterium is a digital revival of Forma Léger, an existing metal typeface by the italian type foundry Nebiolo. This foundry is closed now.
It has been designed to help association Zone Opaque, which uses the typeface as a metal font, to quickly set mock-up proofs and calibrate text. The digital font is compatible with its metal counterpart and helps gain time. That’s also why it has no kerning!
