Bits from my “200+ letterings summer project“…

Below is a picture of the wall facing my desk. I just finished a book project featuring around 200+ hand letterings (charcoal sketch + Rotring rendering).
100% computer-free, which is a rather refreshing process, wayyyyyy apart from Bézier curves! Some are pure typographic illustrations, others are directly linked to calligraphy, thus constantly confronting “traced” letter and “drawn” letter. Sometimes the two also melt. (check the word crème for instance).
These are just partial bits of the different styles I picked for the making of the letterings. I can’t show more for the moment, but be sure that you’ll get the whole story around november!
